Its 2000

Its 2000Yes the new millennium is here and we would like to wish all our members a very happy and prosperous new year.

We have our millennium championship cat show on the 25th of March and it would be wonderful if we could make it our biggest and best attended show ever.

So if you are only going to go to one show this year please make it The Cambridgeshire Cat Club show.

Superhighway

Did you get a computer for Christmas ? Are you connected to the internet ? Do you have an email address ?

The Cambridgeshire Cat Club is about to join the world wide web (does anyone call it that these days) with its own website at http://www.camcat.co.uk. The URL has been registered and we will be putting up a basic site during January.

Because it is a website for the Club we want your suggestions on what the site should contain. Again let me know via email to pauld@aberdusty.idps.co.uk

Last but not least, if you would prefer to receive your CamChat via email (yes you’ve guessed it) let me know via email to marionfisher@madasafish.com

Coach to the National

The coach to the National was not as popular as in previous years and that meant the Club lost money on the trip. In view of this we shall only be booking a small coach for this years trip to the National (prices will be advised in the September CamChat)

Christmas Dinner

1999 turned out to be the first year in the history of the Club, that the Club did not hold a Christmas dinner meeting.

Because of the scheduling of the National Cat Show on the Sunday before our December meeting and my involvement in organising the coach trip I was unable to provide the catering.

The sad thing is that only a handful of members actually asked about the Christmas dinner and less than 20 people turned up for the December meeting.

Pay Your Sub's

Yes its that time of the year, you’ve just got over Christmas, the credit card statements are dropping through the letterbox and we want your money.

Membership subscriptions are due on January 1st 2000 and if you are entering a cat (or more) in the show you can return your membership form, and cheque with your show entry.

If you are intending to pay this way please please please make out a separate cheque for your membership subscription so that we can process it before the show.

Last year we experienced an administration hiccup that upset the distribution of Club year books to members attending the show.

Diary Dates

Monday January 10th 2000
This is the meeting to attend if you want to help at the show in March or if you just want to get a behind the scenes view of what is involved in organising a cat show. Of course, if enough people attend, there will also be a bit of a cat chat after the jobs have been dished out.

Monday February 14th 2000
Linda Faich will is coming along to give talk about the benefits to be had from Aloe Vera. Lets hope we see enough members to cover the cost of hiring the room.

Monday March 13th 2000
Linda Hutchinson will be providing us with an update on the latest developments in the Cat's Protection league locally and nationally. April is show forum and May is another Mark Pearman quiz night
